We are so happy to be able to offer you a seat at the table now! Feed Buffalo acquired these chairs from a closing gallery. The table was donated from a kind Buffalo designer who was selling on Facebook Marketplace. When he learned what the purchase was for he gave us the table! Special thanks to Robert Johnson (Drea’s Father) and to Abdul, Siraj, and Sadiq (Drea’s Sons) for helping us to put together our new table! We are so grateful to connect with fellow WNY-ers who believe in building community! In March, we plan to install our sink and wet bar! Stay tuned!
Buffalo Magazine published a beautiful read about Feed Buffalo! You can read it HERE !
Our pantry walls were blessed with a hand painted logo courtesy of International Master Artist, Edreys Wajed (who also designed our logo!) We are eternally grateful to have his continued blessing and can’t wait for you all to see it in person!!!!!
Community youth workers and Mayor Summer Youth students helped us to finish our pantries! We officially have 6 little fee pantries completed! Our next step is to re-install our green roofs and to get them designed by students of the Buffalo Center for Arts & Technology (BCAT)! As always, special thanks to our friends at The Foundry!
The Women’s Resistance Revival Chorus came together for MoveOn’s Summer Service Social on behalf of FEED BUFFALO! WNY residents donated over 140 lbs. of organic food to our organization! We love how the community keeps us on their minds. Here are few more pics from the event!
Feed Buffalo was awarded $5,000 from the Marguerite Casey Foundation! Special thanks to Rami Nashishibi and the entire organization for seeing and supporting healthy communities. This grant allows us to secure ourselves in our new building for the rest of the year and to get much needed appliances for the pantry! We are so grateful!
Feed Buffalo presented the first Healthy Community Session at the Massachusetts Avenue Project! We featured Vegan Chef, L. Judith Carroll of St. Croix. She cooked plant-based comfort foods and spoke to the community about the benefits of healthy living. Chef Alexa Joan of Buffalo, NY also made delicious vegan cakes and roasted cabbage. The audience was mixed, open and very receptive. Click here for recipes from Chef L. Judith Carroll!
We made a lot of progress with our Little Free Pantry Project! We worked with Health Sciences Charter School students and community volunteers to finish the structure, doors, and add green roofs with trough-resistant plants! The Foundry has been an awesome collaborator for this project! We are almost finished!
In June, we also added a chalkboard wall to our pantry! Special thanks to Arleym Habeeb of CPR Remodeling Pros for such efficient work!
We are excited to collaborate with The Foundry for our Little Free Pantry project! Megan McNally instructed our volunteers in safety and woodbuilding. We cut out the wood for the base, shelves and roof for 2 little free pantries. In our next session, we will complete one pantry and do some more cutting! Special thanks to Project Mona’s House and Young Women’s Empowerment Academy for sending youth volunteers. Visit our events page to find a session that you can join. We look forward to having you.
