Feed Buffalo took root inside of founder, Drea d’Nur, out of a need to feed her own muslim family. After visiting several pantries, she noticed that none of them had halal food. She was determined to create a community pantry with healthy options that included halal food. D’Nur is working to heal communities with a clear vision and healthy food initiative that focuses on Buffalo’s underserved communities, especially black and muslim refugee communities.

We envision a network of locally-sourced, healthy and halal food pantries that serve foods that will heal the community in beautiful spaces. We are focused on:
HEALTHY FOOD ACCESS. To make locally-sourced, healthy and halal food accessible to underserved food deserts in WNY, centering Buffalo’s East Side community.
HEALING CENTER. We will distribute healing herbs, host yoga/meditation/sound healing, ancestral and green space, and an area for rest.
HEALTHY FOOD EDUCATION. We will host cooking demos, provide free locally-sourced, healthy and halal food recipes, and offer support with healthy food budgeting with a focus on single Mothers.
HEALTHY FOOD HOME DELIVERY PROGRAM. For seniors and widows, especially.
HEALING GARDEN. We are excited to partner with Groundwork Market Gardens for our first healing garden! We love to partner with those who have a passion and knowledge for Earthkeeping.
WOMEN’S EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM. We are excited to provide work and more for women who understand how important it is to give food away in a clean environment. This year we were able to hire 1 woman and contract 3 others!
